From the very beginning God’s love for man is apparent. God created man, in His image, in order that He may fellowship with man. Man is the only creature blessed by God and man is the only creature to whom God gives the authority to rule.
Then God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.When man chose to sin, God who cannot look upon sin, made a way for man to regain fellowship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground. Genesis 26, 28 (NKJV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17, (NKJV)Further, in Romans 8:31 we read, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
We are told in 1 John 1:9, NIV, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
God’s love for us is the greatest love. The Apostle John records in 1 John 3:1b, NIV, “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! Furthermore, “God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” 1 John 4:16b.
